  • Overview

Pilkington is a name that is synonymous with glass and glazing. It is one of the largest companies in its field and delivers its products into 130 national markets. That makes it a very big player in a growing and increasingly specialist business.

Like many other large, international businesses, Pilkington relies on email to keep its business functioning efficiently. Over the recent past however, problems like virus infections and indiscriminate inbound email (spam) began to significantly disrupt the business and prevent staff from getting on with their jobs.

That situation simply couldn’t continue and Pilkington turned to MessageLabs for a solution, which was both effective and measurable in terms of improvement. This case study outlines the fiscal impact of viruses and spam, and the beneficial effect – in cash terms – of an effective remedy.
